Little Village Quilt BOM 12

Block of the Month 12 of 12
June

Embroidery files and instruction

13x18cm / 5x7"

With this BOM-12 collection you get another 4 detailed embroidery files. These 4 embroidery files of the  "Little Village Quilt BOM Collection" are part 12 of a series of 12 in total. This means most work is done.

Every month you could get 3-4 applique files, all for the 13x18cm hoop. So for this last month: Place the motifs on a square piece of fabric. Follow the instruction and add a double sashing strip on all four sides of the block so you will get a square block of 40x40cm. From all these 12 blocks you can now complete a beautiful quilt with coordinated seasonally different embroidery designs.

For the real sizes and a lot of samples for Little Village Quilt Applique by our testers can be found here.

As an option you get with this BOM12 the instruction how to combine the single block and to complete the quilt. Please chose your language: English or German.

As we already completed the single blocks as sandwiches with batting and back side fabric and have quilted them we will join the block following the "Quilt as you go" technique. In our optional instruction we explain how QAYG works with lots of pictures.

QAYG is a common method to combine single quilt blocks to a quilt. Of course different quilters prefer slight changes of the basic method. However, the way we are using is easy to follow and offers a good result.

In case you went the other way and have not yet finished the single blocks with batting and back fabric our instruction still may help you. We added hints for how to trim, bind and complete the blocks. You will only miss the step how to combine the blocks to the quilt top.

Adding the bindings then is the same for both ways. You can follow each single step.

When ready, our quilt is 1.4m x 1.8m.
