These 3 applique embroidery files of the  "Little Village Quilt BOM Collection" are part 1 of a series of 12 in total. 

BOM means „Block of the Month“. Every month we offer you another 3 suiting applique embroidery motifs. Each single applique of the 3 matches the 13x18 hoop size.

Place the 3 motifs on a square piece of fabric. Follow the instruction and add a double sashing strip on all four sides of the block so you will get a square block of 40x40cm.

From these 12 blocks you can after a year complete a beautiful quilt with coordinated seasonally different embroidery designs.

The sashing strips of the final 12 blocks will be sewed on with the sewing machine. Only the appliques will be embroidered.

Our sewing instructions about the completion of the blocks explains step by step with many pictures how to sew each single block. Basic knowledge of sewing and how to use a ruler and a rotary cutter are needed. The instruction of course has all info about material required.

When exactly following the instruction your quilt will be 1.30x1.70m/ 50"x67". Of course you can influence this by varying the width of the sashing stripes or by adding additional stripes.

This is what you need:

  • Embroidery Thread
  • Stabilizer
  • (Appliqué) scissors
  • Cotton fabric for the inner blocks (single color)
  • Several different cotton fabrics for the appliqué pieces
  • Fabrics for sashing, border and backing
  • Batting
  • Optional, but recommended: cutting mat, rotary cutter and cutting ruler

Bunny Hoop size  5x7", Dress and Jacket 6x10" With this embroidery file you can embroider and sew a cute 28 cm (11") bunny (measured without ears) including a pretty jacket and reversible dress.  All the tedious fiddling like copying and transferring the paper cut and sewing the mini parts is no longer necessary with this file, because the embroidery machine does all of this for you. In the case of the Bunny, the individual parts are then joined together with hand stitches after filling with fiberfill. Of course, all of these steps are explained in detail in the 17-page instructions. The dress is made of soft 1mm thick wool felt, lined with cotton and embroidered with tiny flowers. All you have to do is to close a turning opening and fasten the straps with mini buttons or a few stitches. The dress is fully lined and can be worn from both sides. The wool felt jacket is also fully lined and embroidered with small flowers that look like they would grow out of the two patch pockets. Only the side seams are closed with the sewing machine and a button is sewn on.
