Grandma's Vintage Egg Cosy's

Hoop size 4x4"

Do you remember the quilts and blankets that your grandma made using thick cotton embroidery floss and cross stitches?

These Egg Cozies remind me of those lovely quilts. The embroidery which is done with embroidery thread size 30 is made in a way that it looks as if it were embroidered by hand with a 6 thread embroidery floss.

This embroidery file in the hoop consists of 5 different designs.

The Egg Cozies are done completely in the hoop and fit into the 10 x 10 embroidery frame.

You will need:

  • wool felt,
  • cotton scraps
  • cotton machine embroidery thread size 30

You can of course use the standard embroidery thread in size 40, but with the thicker cotton thread you will achieve more hand made results.

Bunny Hoop size  5x7", Dress and Jacket 6x10" With this embroidery file you can embroider and sew a cute 28 cm (11") bunny (measured without ears) including a pretty jacket and reversible dress.  All the tedious fiddling like copying and transferring the paper cut and sewing the mini parts is no longer necessary with this file, because the embroidery machine does all of this for you. In the case of the Bunny, the individual parts are then joined together with hand stitches after filling with fiberfill. Of course, all of these steps are explained in detail in the 17-page instructions. The dress is made of soft 1mm thick wool felt, lined with cotton and embroidered with tiny flowers. All you have to do is to close a turning opening and fasten the straps with mini buttons or a few stitches. The dress is fully lined and can be worn from both sides. The wool felt jacket is also fully lined and embroidered with small flowers that look like they would grow out of the two patch pockets. Only the side seams are closed with the sewing machine and a button is sewn on. The bunny is always openwork, which means that the edges protrude a few millimetres. I have used wool felt here, which gives the rabbit an even cozier look. But regular fabric or plush would work just as well. In the hoop size 5x7" you get 4 different embroidery designs, from the first 3 designs you can assemble the whole meadow, one after the other. The 4th design in this hoop size is a smaller "slimmed down" meadow with rabbits. In the 6x10" and 7x12" hoop sizes you get a complete meadow with bunnies in the corresponding size.
